the "how" of eternal families!

"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:19).

In the LDS church, the doctrine of eternal families is one of the most glorious and prominent doctrines that we hold dear. As Latter-day Saints, we believe that "marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children" (The Family: A Proclamation to the World). We believe that just as in days of old, we have temples all around the world, and only here can families be "sealed" together for all eternity.

I believe that God blesses His children with this innate knowledge that families can be together forever, but most people don't know how exactly this is possible. But through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Christ's original church once again restored on the earth, we know the how!

Families can be together forever through:

Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement,
Repentance,
Baptism (by a worthy priesthood holder),
Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost,
and Enduring to the End
(including making sacred covenants, or promises, with God in His Holy Temples).

I am so grateful that this truth has been restored, and that through our Savior, family relationships don't have to end at death. Families truly can be together forever!
